Clinic Equipment

The “Scandinavia AVA-PETER” clinic uses modern equipment and technologies from leading European and global manufacturers to ensure high-quality assisted reproductive technologies and patient safety.

Main equipment elements:

• Operating unit and embryology laboratory equipped with a multistage ventilation system and HEPA filters, as well as access-controlled airlocks to maintain sterility. The laboratory features a Nikon Eclipse Ti inverted microscope with a Narishige Takanome micromanipulator, Cook benchtop incubators, single-chamber CO₂ incubators by Astec and Thermo Scientific, and Class 1 and 2 laminar flow hoods.

• Cryostorage facility with modern Dewar vessels CryoSystem MVE and a specialized embryo and oocyte storage system by Worthington Industries, ensuring safe preservation of biomaterials in nitrogen vapor without cross-contamination risks. Transport Dewar vessels with nitrogen level control are also available.

• Embryo cultivation is performed using 12 benchtop incubators (more than in any other clinic in St. Petersburg). Each ART protocol is carried out in a separate incubator to maintain stable gas composition and temperature. Gas supply is monitored by a continuous monitoring system overseen 24/7 by on-duty specialists.

• Anesthesia equipment includes the GE Avance anesthesia machine, GE Carescape B650 monitor, Schiller Defigard 4000 defibrillator, and a “Provita” oxygen station, ensuring patient safety during procedures.

• Hatching and biopsy are performed using Research Instruments Saturn 3 and Octax Navilase laser systems.

• The modern EmbryoScope+ embryoscope with time-lapse technology, built-in microscope and camera enables continuous monitoring of embryo development without disrupting incubation conditions, increasing the effectiveness of procedures. Artificial intelligence is used to analyze embryo development.

• The andrology laboratory is equipped with OLYMPUS and ZEISS microscopes with digital cameras, EVA-200 centrifuges, a Panasonic incubator, and a Mars Safety Class 2 laminar hood for safe biomaterial handling.

• The genetic laboratory provides a wide range of studies, including preimplantation genetic testing (PGT-A and PGT-M), invasive and non-invasive prenatal diagnostics, newborn screening, and other cytogenetic and molecular-genetic tests using advanced equipment such as Bio-Rad, Eppendorf, and BMG Labtech devices, as well as Nikon Eclipse Ni-U fluorescent microscopes.
